Madonna Estate Chardonnay, 2022
Madonna Estate’s Chardonnay!
I tried the Madonna Estate Chardonnay during our visit to the winery last year, and enjoyed it enough to take a bottle home. Sourced from the Carneros appellation, it immediately stood out with its inviting aroma and smooth, creamy profile. It’s the kind of wine that feels comforting yet refined — easy to enjoy and perfect for a relaxed meal.
What makes this Chardonnay particularly enjoyable is its balance. While it carries that classic creamy texture, it also shows a subtle minerality that keeps it from feeling too heavy — something I don’t always find in more buttery styles. It’s a natural pairing for dishes like chicken alfredo, where the richness of the wine complements the food beautifully without overwhelming it.
I also rated their Barbera wine (Madonna Estate Barbera 2022), although I prefer this variety.

Verdict Light aromas of pear and peach open the nose, supported by a soft, well-balanced bouquet. The palate is creamy with a touch of honeyed richness, lifted by a subtle minerality. Smooth and balanced, it finishes clean with a gentle, rounded texture.
