Mucchietto Appassimento Organic
Appassimento: Pinot Noir’s Far Cousin?
Mucchietto Appassimento Organic Red was a pleasant new grape discovery for us, much like its Soave counterpart on the white side. It’s an easy, smooth wine to drink, with a soft profile that makes it approachable for many occasions. While I typically prefer reds with more structure for pasta dishes, this one felt light enough that it could pair just as well with a simple salad. The flavor leaned slightly jammy, with soft red fruit notes reminiscent of a Pinot Noir.
Overall, it had a nice level of acidity, and you can sense a shared family character with the Mucchietto Soave.

Verdict (Value Wine) Soft red fruit—think cherry and strawberry—opens the palate with a gentle, slightly jammy feel. The acidity is balanced and refreshing, keeping the wine lively. Aromas are subtle, but the flavor shines more than the nose, finishing clean and smooth.
