Bennwihr Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rosé (NV)
A Crispy Rosé from Alsace
This has to be one of my all-time favorite sparkling wines—but it can be tricky to track down. I usually grab it from WTSO (Wines ’Til Sold Out) when it pops up there, and the price is always a pleasant surprise. They often carry the regular Bennwihr Crémant as well, but this rosé is the one that first caught my eye. It was actually the first rosé I tried that wasn’t the usual pinkish shade, and I’m so glad I took a chance on it.
The wine itself is beautiful: a brushed-amber hue with an expressive bouquet of juicy strawberry and a subtle almond note. True to its Alsace roots, this French Crémant is wonderfully smooth, with a creamy mousse and crisp, lively bubbles. I’ve tucked away a few bottles for special occasions—and I’m trying not to panic because there’s only one left!

Verdict (VALUE WINE) Beautiful bouquet, bright notes of juicy strawberry, balanced by a subtle hint of toasted almond. Crisp bubbles and a creamy texture make every sip lively and refined.
