Bernard Magrez L’Aurore en Gascogne, 2021
Bright, refreshing, and effortlessly elegant
This bottle holds a special place among my favorite wines. I first tried L’Aurore en Gascogne at a French wine shop in Palm Beach, and it was also my very first introduction to Côtes de Gascogne region (this was similar to a Bordeaux Blanc blend). Since then, I’ve fallen in love with these styles, but this one remains unforgettable.
What makes this wine unique is its composition — primarily Colombard with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc. The result is a charming, well-balanced white with a floral aroma and subtle herbal notes. There’s a brightness to it that lingers softly, almost transporting you to a sunlit field on a warm day.
Bernard Magrez, known for vineyards around the world, has truly mastered the expression of this wine. It delivers a luxury experience at an exceptional value. The bottle itself is beautifully crafted, and its name, L’Aurore (meaning “sunrise”), is perfectly reflected in both the wine’s vibrant character and elegant design.
If you come across this bottle, don’t hesitate — it’s an excellent find for anyone who enjoys fresh, lively whites. Perfect on its own or paired with light seafood dishes, salads, or creamy cheeses.
