Château Tour de Mirambeau Bordeaux Blanc: A Cruise Favorite
Fresh and Zesty.. and a Cruise Favorite
Around April of this year, on a cruise trip through France, I discovered a Bordeaux Blanc I couldn’t get enough of. Every time I dined, I found myself asking for another glass. Our waiter let us know it was from Entre-Deux-Mers, between the two rivers we were visiting. I’ll tell you, this wine had a beautiful pale yellow hue, and its balance was simply perfect. The mix of citrus, floral, and white fruit aromas, possibly pear or grapefruit, made for a delightful combination.
On the palate, it’s full-bodied, rich, and smooth, with a zesty freshness that lingers. There is also a slight mineral finish, which paired wonderfully with chicken and the seafood dishes, especially the salmon. We were lucky the cruise had plenty of it, and I loved it so much that I had to take a picture to track it down when I got back home.
This Bordeaux Blanc truly stood out among the many wines we tried on this trip. It’s not the first review you’ll see from our Bordeaux adventure, but it’s definitely one of the most memorable. The balance and freshness make it a wine worth savoring.
